What to watch out for
The commonest mistake is wording that is too wide — "to represent us everywhere and in all matters". List the authority precisely: what they may do, and where.
A power of attorney issued with no term takes the term the law sets. Always state the term.
Some kinds of transaction need a notarised power of attorney. Check whether yours is one of them before you use this.
Put the expiry date in a reminder — a document signed under an expired power of attorney is open to challenge.
